#006 - Homelessness in Chico – Patrick Newman – Chico Friends on the Street – Part 6

Episodes Show Notes

Published October 27th, 2019

Our exploration of homelessness in Chico Ca. continues with Patrick Newman of Chico Friends on the Street – located in Chico, Ca.

The conversation covers a wide range of topics: civil rights, what it means to “feel safe”, and Patrick’s rationale for dispersing food in what many consider to be the heart of downtown – Chico’s City Plaza.

Patrick was named Chico New & Review’s Local Hero in 2018. But not everyone considers him a local hero, in fact some think he’s adding fuel to the fire. We decided to have him on the show to discuss his position in detail so that you could decide for yourself!
